Before

Community exchange, patient diary entries, medication routines, appointment preparation, toilet finder support, consent flows, and wearable input had to work inside one privacy-sensitive mobile product.

A maintained Ionic/Angular app connects forum posts, diary workflows, medication and appointment documentation, exports, profile settings, toilet finder maps, and Apple Watch diary entries synchronized back to the phone app.

The app supports people living with inflammatory bowel disease in everyday documentation, organization, and peer exchange. It combines a community forum, diary workflows, medication and appointment planning, notes, food-tolerance support, knowledge content, exportable documentation, profile and consent settings, push/local notifications, device-calendar sync, Apple Watch diary sync, and a Google Maps based toilet finder.

Product context

Community and practical patient support had to live in one mobile app.

Patients managing Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis often need community exchange, symptom documentation, medication routines, appointment preparation, food-tolerance notes, and fast access to nearby toilets. The product had to support these recurring daily needs while handling sensitive health-adjacent data carefully.

UX and consent

The app had to onboard users before asking for sensitive documentation.

The onboarding flow introduces language selection, tutorials for home, calendar, features, and customizable favorites, then presents privacy and terms acceptance before authentication or anonymous use. This keeps patient-facing UX clear while respecting consent-heavy healthcare expectations.
